December goals coming later this week. Here’s how I did in November…
Run 50 miles. I was hoping to report that I’d done this again for the third month in a row…but like I said yesterday, I didn’t get there this month thanks to my aching hip, which curtailed running for the last two weeks.
Clean up/reorganize/rearrange Emma’s clothes and toys. I finally forced myself to do this yesterday, solely so I could say that I did it. Whew!
Try free motion quilting. I decided to start with a Craftsy class about free motion — which turned out to be a LOT more involved than I thought, primarily because you need to already have a quilt top (or several blocks at least) pieced together before you even start! I probably should have just practiced on plain fabric…but I couldn’t help it. (Yes, I have a problem.)
In any case, I made 3 blocks and watched the first 4 class lessons…which are all about preparing for quilting. Lesson #5 is the “start quilting!” lesson — so after all my prep work, I’m finally going to get started. (I really need to learn how to just start.)
Check 3 items off my “little jobs” list. I replaced the batteries in our indoor/outdoor thermometer (which had been dead for a couple weeks), I cleaned out the freezer (which had stuff from 2+ years ago in its depths), and I cleaned off the top of our refrigerator (which was still “temporarily” housing a bunch of stuff we moved off the kitchen island months ago). These were all tasks that only took a few minutes but I’d just been too lazy to do. I like this “little jobs” list idea!
