Me: “Halloween is coming!”
Emma (looking at the front door): “Halloween coming to our house?”

I’m sitting at the counter with Emma on my lap, playing with playdough. I’m making a smiley face out of a circle, and adding bits of dough for eyes, nose, etc.
Me: “Here’s one eye.”
Emma: “…one eye…”
Me: “And here’s another eye.”
Emma: “…’nother eye…”
Me: “Here’s his nose.”
Emma: “…nose…”
Me: “And here’s an ear!”
Emma: “No dat’s playdough.”

Jose: “Did you have dance class today?”
Emma: “Yes, I have dance class.”
Me: “What did you learn?”
Emma (holding out leg and sort of pointing her toe): “I go like this and use my muscles!”

Upon eating a lollipop, no matter what the flavor:
Emma: “Taste like apples!”

Jose: “Did you take a nap today?”
Emma: “I did take a nap.”
Jose: “Did Daddy take a nap today?”
Emma: “No, Daddy didn’t take a nap, Daddy bigger.”
Jose: “Yeah, Daddy’s bigger.”
Emma: “Emma little. All my friends little.”
