Around here lately we’ve been…
…playing in big boxes…
…making (and eating!) owl cookies…
…but also roasting brussels sprouts, which are decidedly healthier…
…working on my Halloween Town cross stitch, even though Halloween is over…
…laughing at Emma’s feet hanging off the bed…
…peeking into the cockpit of a B-52 at the annual airshow…
…and then walking through the bomb bay…
…finding astronaut Barbie sleeping in my bed…
…eating way too much candy (although most of what’s seen here was given to trick-or-treaters)…

…and riding bikes!

Cute, but where’s Emma’s bike helmet!?!?

Eek, I know! That was the first day we ever took her bike outside, and we totally brain farted about her helmet. I realized a few days later, and we use it now!

Mmm…brussel sprouts! I never liked them as a kid, but they are my hubby’s favorite so I learned how to make them. Now we all love them. We made roasted brussel sprouts and add them with chicken sausage, pasta, and pesto. D asks for it about once a week!
But more importantly way to go, Emma!
(I love that she has astronaut Barbie!)

I was going to say the same thing as Jen de Jong–I hated Brussels sprouts, asparagus, etc. as a child but now I would rather have them then dessert. Last night we made a big pan of roasted leeks, beets, zucchini, sweet potatoes, broccoli and cubed winter squash. So yummy.

I also never liked — or never knew that I liked — brussels sprouts until recently! But mmm, they are so good.
