After all the quilting I did in August, it’s been hard to get the subject off my brain. I see awesome and inspiring quilts all over the internet these days, and thought it’d be fun to share some of my favorites from time to time. Here are a few recent ones that caught my eye:
1) Elizabeth Hartman did some really cool faux bois free motion quilting on her Pointy Quilt. I sooo need to give free motion quilting a try, although I know it will take a lot of practice to produce something like that. (This is the pattern I tested for her. Let’s just say her quilting skills are far superior to my own!)
2) I love the rainbow colors of this quilt I saw on Fat Quarterly’s Instagram feed a while ago, and the white stars give it an extra pop.
3) This nautical inspired quilt by Two Little Aussie Birds is gorgeous. I would hang it on a wall.
4) I came across Sarah’s Aerial quilt on Flickr and love everything about it — the color palette, the stripes and angles, the straight line quilting. It all works so well.
