Time // 8:05 pm Monday evening. (Yes, these days I often schedule my posts to magically appear in the future.)
Place // Sitting at the island in our kitchen on my laptop. Jose is reading books with Emma before she goes to bed. Some of her current favorites are Go Dog Go (still), Room on the Broom (a Halloween book, but who’s counting) and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.
Eating // We finished dinner no long ago. It was a chicken pasta casserole that I made a few weeks ago and froze. Look at me, seeming like I’ve got it all together! Except Emma refused to eat any of it, — and she wasn’t even bribable so I think she legitimately didn’t like it, as opposed to just being a picky toddler.
Drinking // Nothing at the moment. With dinner I just had water.
Watching // Project Runway and Top Chef have both started up again! Hooray!
Reading // “Run Like a Mother” by the Another Mother Runner ladies, Sarah and Dimity. I’ve been listening to their podcast for a few months now and really enjoying it, so I decided to buy their book. The book so far is only so-so — although I think it’d be a lot better if I were a beginning runner.
Wanting // To go to bed. I was at work at 6 a.m. this morning for a big review. So sleepy.
Thinking // About having some ice cream. Because why not.
Creating // Because wanting to finish four quilts this month wasn’t enough, I also decided I wanted to make one of these poolside totes. You know, in all my free time. (Eyeroll at myself.) I am really inconsistent with my sewing sometimes, flitting from project to project.
On the quilt front, I have the top, back and binding of #1 done and back, binding and 75% of a top for #2.
Had to step outside for a short telecon tagup this morning. This was my view.
Hoping // That I survive the rest of the month. Between Emma’s birthday and a trip to Corpus, our personal life is hectic. And work this month is just insane — I have several different balls in the air, and two of the people heavily involved in a couple of those things will be going out on maternity and paternity leave basically any day now. (It’s two different couples/babies, but with due dates that happen to fall really close together.)
Needing // To pick up some of our crap before the cleaners come tomorrow. But ugh. I really don’t want to.
Anticipating // Friday. I know, but geez today was hectic. It’s only Monday (as I write this) and I’m already wishing it was Friday. Not a great start to the week.
