Tomorrow is the day — the day I will run 5K without walking for the first time in ages! This is what I’ve been working towards for the last 9 weeks and it’s going to be hot (obviously) but I am excited.

We have a couple family trips scheduled for this fall — one to a wedding in the Boston area, and one to Charlotte to see my family and attend a small service for my grandmother. Since Emma will no longer be able to fly for free, I’m still adjusting to the sticker shock of now having to buy three plane tickets. Air travel just got 33% more expensive.

This week Emma’s inexplicable freakouts at bathtime were replaced by freakouts at daycare dropoff. She pitched a fit for Jose on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and was moments away from another one yesterday when I dropped her off until her teacher and I managed to distract her with breakfast and a reminder that it was splash day.
Toddlers are weird, man.

I managed to get my Pointy quilt quilted over the course of a few days, and started on the binding — usually my quilting nemesis! — last night. I should be able to finish it this week, so if you’re into my crafty pursuits, you can look forward to some photos and final thoughts next week.

Since I’ve been spending my craft time on the Pointy quilt, I’m a bit behind on my cross stitching at the moment. I haven’t even started the July block of my Once Upon a Time sampler, and the second clue for the Halloween Town club was released yesterday so I’ve got that in front of me also. I’ve done so well keeping up with it for the first half of this year and I don’t want to get behind now, so I think that will be my craft focus for the rest of July.

I haven’t been watching the Tour de France this year at all — it was sort of overridden by the World Cup in our household — but it looks like it’s been a crazy race so far. Now that the World Cup is over, hopefully I’ll find time to tune in this weekend.

It’s Flex Friday! I’ll be spending the morning at the Toyota dealership. Excitement abounds.
