Summary
I did all three of my Couch to 5K workouts this week! C25K has a built-in assumption that 5K = 30 minutes of running, so the workouts are only 30 minutes long. But I certainly can’t run a 5K in 30 minutes right now, and I won’t be able to get there in the 7 weeks between now and the Lunar Rendezvous 5K next month. So I decided it’d be a good idea to include an “extra” workout each week where I cover just a bit over the full 5K distance, and that’s what I did yesterday.
And you know what? I loved running this week.
I started running more than 13 years ago, when I was at Stanford for grad school. I’ve trained hard at times, and I’ve gone weeks and months without running at other times. My enthusiasm rises and falls. Sometimes I feel guilty about that, and sometimes I don’t. Who knows what next week will look like, or next month, but this week, I loved running.
And that’s good enough.
