We’ve taken two trips to the Houston Zoo in recent weeks, once on our own and once to celebrate Emma’s buddy Keagan’s 2nd birthday. We signed up for a membership the first time since it pays for itself after 2-3 visits, so I’m sure we’ll be back a few more times when the weather gets nice again in the fall! Here are some photos from our fun days:
They have a baby elephant right now, just born in February. His name is Duncan and he was super cute!
It is hard to get a toddler to smile.
Emma was more interested in running through the tropical bird house, since the birds themselves were sort of hard to spot.
On our first trip, we checked out the monkeys, birds, and Africa section. When we went back for Keagan’s birthday, we went to several different areas.
Emma liked watching the bears until they started play-fighting — which made her start crying! We’ve started to realize that she is a little sensitive to things like this, so we’ll have to keep it in mind in the future.
Keagan and Emma both checked out the elephants thanks to an assist from the daddies.
Every morning at 10:00, the elephants get a bath and there are windows along the side of the elephant house so that people can watch. Emma was totally fascinated by it!
Hooray for the zoo!
