We flew back home yesterday from a fun-filled five day trip to the Seattle area. I’ll post more about our trip in the next few days, but one of the (many) places we went was the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. I’d read about this place and seen photos before and it popped into my head on Wednesday night as we were discussing what to do the next day.
The museum was smaller than I expected, but had two major highlights. One was the “hot shop,” a fully equipped glass workshop where we got to watch an artist make a fancy goblet that will be part of the museum’s annual fundraising campaign. But the other was a current exhibition called “Look! See? The Colors and Letters of Jen Elek and Jeremy Bert.” Part of it included a huge wall of neon letters that you could pull down off the wall and put together however you wanted. FUN!
If you live in the Seattle area, it looks like the exhibit will be there for the rest of the year. Check it out!
