Summary
Thanks to my 2+ weeks of nothing, I obviously fell off the pace in February towards my “400 miles in 2014” goal. Fortunately, the year is young and I can catch back up in March!
A couple years ago I came across the blog of a runner who lives in the Charlotte area, and have been reading her ever since. She wrote a great post a few days ago about a topic that I have strong opinions on — the ridiculous judgmental-ness that goes on within the running and triathlon community. It’s one of my biggest personal pet peeves about the sport as well, because I’ve heard my fair share of comments too about how I’m slow, or lazy, or not dedicated enough. It’s why I feel guilty continuing to post these weekly summaries when most of the time I don’t have much to show. But I’m going to keep posting them anyway, because I can.

I read the blog you linked to, and I’m blown away by that woman’s experience. I swam slowly, breaststroke only since crawl was literally painful, while pregnant, and I can’t even fathom anyone at my pool making a comment like that about anyone, including me. People swam at all speeds, slow and fast, and were in all shapes and sizes. What kind of gym does that lady go to?? Some kind of special super-athlete gym? Who mocks another person to their face and then gloats about it later? Does that really happen after age 17?

I know, right? I had all the same thoughts. Who mocks someone to their face — and who mocks a pregnant woman working out? Unbelievable.
