March goals coming next week. In the meantime, here’s how I did in February…
Continue work on my Master’s Project. Done! I’ve got 8 finished posters and half of a 9th completed, plus I started working on the “process” portion of my written narrative. I also officially applied for graduation from UHCL — which as far as I can tell is just an excuse for them to take another $65 from me. Still, woo!
No phone in the car. I’ll call this a semi-success. I was much better about leaving my phone in my purse at stoplights, but I still pulled it out in drive thru lines. Granted, the odds of getting into a phone-related accident in a drive-thru line are basically zilch, but the intent behind this goal was also to force myself to cut the cord a little. (As I typed that, I realized that the idiom “cut the cord” is in itself outdated, since nobody’s phone has a cord anymore.) I’m going to keep working on this one, because it’s really a habit I’d like to change permanently.
TBD home improvement project. I added a countertop in our laundry room like I’d originally planned to do in January. I also got a quote for getting crown molding installed our family room/kitchen, which was another January goal. The quote was just for labor and seems reasonable ($3/linear foot unpainted, $4.50/ft if we want him to paint it) but I have no idea how much the materials cost so I guess that’s my next item to price out.
We also made a minor but easy addition to the upstairs bonus room — getting another TV so that we now have one upstairs as well as downstairs. This is the first (tiny) step in the still-being-formed grand plans I have for that room over the next couple years.
Practice free motion quilting. I didn’t get around to this, since I spent all of my craft time either working on my Once Upon a Time sampler or working on the baby quilt I have in progress. I do still want to play around with free motion work though, so perhaps this one will get carried to my March list…
