Summary
Mono or not, I’m back to feeling basically 100% normal so for the umpteenth time, it’s time to get back to doing an iota of exercise. I got on the treadmill on Tuesday and promptly died. Ugh. After a month without running, I’m of course totally out of shape again. I ran a bit and then walked for another 15 minutes.
Yesterday morning I was signed up for the Reindeer Run 5K, but it was 36 degrees outside. I had been looking forward to taking Emma with me, but didn’t want to subject her to the cold for a whole 5K, and without her, I was less enthused about going myself. So I compromised, and ran on the treadmill instead. (I would have gone a full 5K, but I got started too late and ran out of time — I had to stop at 2.5 miles to go shower and meet friends at a local “Breakfast with Santa” thing. Emma had fun, even if she was scared of Santa!)
Last weekend, I was feeling positive about still doing the half marathon in January even if I had to walk most of it. This weekend, I’m less excited about that prospect and wondering if I should just sell my bib. We’ll see.
