For a while, everyone in my family would send around wish lists for Christmas but we haven’t really done that for the past few years. I’m not sure why, because I always love a good wish list! So Santa, if you’re listening, here’s what’s on my list this year…
1. An open toe quilting foot for my sewing machine. My friend Jen made an awesome quilt for her daughter that featured free-motion quilting, and her success has inspired me to try it out. I could do it with the standard presser foot I have right now, but this would make it easier.
2. Weelicious cook book. Emma’s in a bout of pickiness, and on top of that I feel like I just feed her the same things over and over again. This looks like it would have some good new recipes to suit all of us.
3. The End of Night by Paul Bogard. I read an article online recently by this author on this subject — how our world has become very light-polluted and how it’s difficult to find truly dark skies anymore — and it was really interesting.
4. Eye-Fi SD card for my camera. I’ve read about these before but never pulled the trigger on getting one for myself. It’s a wifi-enabled SD card which, on the one hand, is kind of excessive since I have a card reader. But on the other hand, getting the SD card out of my Sony camera involves having to take the whole case off, which is kind of annoying.
5. Adonit Jot Script Evernote Edition Stylus. I’ve been using Evernote’s Penultimate app on my iPad a lot lately, but my finger and my cheap stylus are both big and clunky. This stylus looks like the closest thing to a pen I’ve seen.
6. Joann gift cards. Because, DUH.
7. Paper Source DIY calendar. I had one of these on my desk at work in 2012 and decorating it at the beginning of each month was a fun little activity.

I might be a little worried about sewing my finger with that open foot. I have one that looks like this (that came with my machine):
