One of my June goals was to participate in 30 Days of Creativity for the second year in a row. Here’s my report for Week 3! (And here’s Week 1 and Week 2.)
June 14-16 – Cross stitch, cross stitch, and more cross stitch!
June 17 – I made a neat little “What’s for Dinner This Week” notepad after digging out a kit I got several years ago from The Small Object. (Yes, years. I have a bad habit of getting things with every intent to make something cool, and then letting it flounder. I’ve been cleaning up all my craft stuff recently and therefore discovering all sorts of fun things.) Anyway, this time around I used the pre-printed sheets that came in the kit, but the possibilities here are endless! What to make a notepad for next…?
June 18 – Finally began working on our wedding album after finishing the agonizing process of sorting through a ton of great photos and trying to decide which truly belong in our album (otherwise the album will be about 100 pages). Like I mentioned while pondering photobooks yesterday, I decided to go with Adorama. Their software seems similar to Blurb, although maybe not quite as flexible. Fortunately, they already have a very simply default layout so I don’t think I’ll need to do too much customizing.
June 19 – I made the quickest and easiest project from this month’s For The Makers box — 5 cute pushpins. I used to subscribe to Whimseybox, but a few months ago I cancelled that one and decided to give For The Makers a try. I loved the April and May boxes, but I’m so-so on the June box. In addition to the pushpins above, there are materials to make a pair of earrings, a headband and a bracelet — but none of them are really my style, so I’m wondering if I might be able to come up with something else to do with the materials.
June 20 – You guessed it — most cross stitch! (Anyone sensing a theme here?) I feel a little guilty for not pushing myself a little more, but cross stitch is easy and fun and I really want to get Emma’s stocking done by December!!
