- Despite the pneumonia, Emma continues to be constantly on the move. Her latest trick is making the transition from cruising along the couch to cruising along the coffee table. They’re just far enough apart that she has to get down on the floor — a move which is rather amusing to watch since she doesn’t really understand how to bend her knees yet, so she just bends all the way over from the waist — and then climb back up again on the table. Also: how cute is she in her little shorts??
- I’m addicted to Dots on my iPhone. Don’t click that link or search the app store if you value your productivity. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
- Last summer we hung a flagpole on the outside of the house between the garage and the front door. We hadn’t used it in a while because our first flag got a little torn up after getting caught on the corner of the gutter. But on Monday, armed with a new flag, I hung it up again. A few hours later when we left the house, we discovered the entire thing lying in a heap on the driveway — bracket, screws and all. Somehow the whole thing pulled out of the mortar! I’m not sure how to fix this. Hmm.
- Yesterday I got to stuff my face with chocolate chip cookies thanks to a coworker’s wife who is doing some kind of chocolate chip cookie taste test. I don’t know the details because I was much more concerned with eating the cookies than I was with the details of the test, but it was definitely the highlight of my day.
- Jose and I made our annual trip to Ikea on Monday while Emma stayed home with Grandma. We went specifically for 2 bookcases for Jose’s side of the office, since he needs more storage space in there — but of course we bought a bunch of other little things too. My favorite is a little 4-piece set of sand toys for Emma to use when we go to the beach next month. I know she won’t exactly be building sandcastles this year, but every kid needs a bucket, right?
Mom says
YES, every kids needs a sand bucket, a paint-with-water bucket (remember that?), a toy bucket, a junk bucket, a stuffed animal bucket, an art bucket, etc. etc. etc. Of course, EVERY kid needs a bucket!!!
Love the progression of her move from sofa to coffee table — so cute. Can’t be long before she walks from one to the other!!
