Emma’s been in daycare for 4 weeks now. I wish I could say we’ve gotten into a groove, but it doesn’t really feel that way yet. Our mornings still seem crazy hectic as we try to get both ourselves and our 3.5-month-old out the door and not forget anything. Yesterday I got all the way to work and sat down at my desk before I realized that my backpack — with my laptop snugly inside — was still at home.

This week was really busy, so that didn’t help in the “groove” department. On Monday, we all went to Chuy’s after work for Kelly and John’s farewell happy hour. They moved back to Ohio — which is great for them but a bummer for us! We will miss them, their cute dogs, and Emma’s would-be friend Kaylynne. On Tuesday, I hosted recipe club at our house, which was delicious and also proved to be a good incentive to clean up the house a bit. And last night I took Emma along with me to book club, which was fun as always.
So. Busy. But fun! And I’m definitely glad it’s Friday!

She is too adorable for words.

Ok, you have managed to find impossibly cute clothes for Emma.
However, I need to come up with a name for that expression that is on her face in all the photos – it makes me laugh every time. Its kind of like “mom, I was having fun until you made me stop to take this stupid photo, and I know I’m impossibly cute so I.need.no.photo.documentation.of.that”. Seriously every time I see her photo I wonder what’s going on in her head.

Lol, she does have a pretty funny default expression.
As for the clothes, there’s not much mystery to it. The blue striped onesie is from Target, the turquoise one is from Old Navy, and the dresses (and tiny cardigan) are both from Carter’s. Shopping for clothes for her is one of the most fun things I get to do these days. 🙂
