Growing Girl

Emma’s grandma (Jose’s mom) is in town for a visit and we’re all having a fun time. Emma is getting lavished with attention, Grandma is loving all the time with her granddaughter, and yesterday Jose and I got to have a date night! We had a delicious dinner at Landry’s despite the crowds in Kemah, and then wandered around Barnes and Noble for an hour. It was really nice.

My little baby is really starting to chunk up. I keep thinking of her as a tiny newborn, but she’ll be 6 weeks old tomorrow! Some of her newborn outfits are getting tight, and we moved from Newborn to Size 1 diapers a few days ago. Today we had to move the shoulder straps in her carseat up one notch because she’s gotten taller, and I’m guessing she’s closing in on the 11 pound mark that’ll mean she’s outgrown the seat’s newborn insert. Although I am super excited for the months to come, when she starts to smile, support her own head, roll over, and more, I now understand what my friends with kids have said before — you blink, and they’re bigger. What happened to my little baby??
