Thursday
Met Kelly and John’s baby! She was 9 days old, very tiny, and very cute. And we will have one of those very soon. Like, whoa.
(I am still pregnant! Baby Sarah & Jose is still cooking!)
Friday
Watched the Olympics Opening Ceremony. The first part from home, and the second part with one eye on the TVs at BJs while we caught up with our friend Nick since he was in town for a few days. The other diners cheered when the US team came in, and then a table of 4 twenty-something guys booed when the broadcast showed Michelle Obama applauding the team. (Really, guys? Really?)
Saturday
All Olympics, all day long. I made the mistake of looking at Twitter and had the result of the Phelps/Lochte 400 IM “duel” spoiled for me. Then I accidentally spoiled it for someone else by tweeting about it. Note to self and others — stay off Twitter in the afternoons if you want to be surprised when NBC finally shows the event in primetime. We did leave the house, but only long enough to get some frozen yogurt and groceries. Then: more Olympics!
Sunday
More Olympics, but this time I remembered to avoid social media all afternoon so nothing was spoiled. Down side? I got to be sad several hours too late for the men’s 4×100 free relay team, who got out-touched for gold, and the reigning world champion American gymnast, who doesn’t get to compete in the all-around because two other girls on her own team were better.
Non-Olympics
I did do a few things that didn’t involve the Olympics…but only a few. I had hoped to be able to post today about the curtains I made for the baby room, but they’re only half-finished! I am slow, but at least it’s because I am measuring twice (ok, like 4 times) before cutting once. Despite the fact that I still have curtains to finish, I went to Joann’s yesterday afternoon to get some supplies for yet another project. Seriously, I now have supplies for at least a half-dozen different projects — some of which are half done, and some of which have not even been started. I’ve forbidden myself from going to Joann’s again until I finish all the things I already have going!

So you keep that baby baking until I get back Aug 12, cause I want to meet her when she’s as young as possible! (I know this is in direct conflict for a desire to have a baby BEFORE Aug 12.)

By that I mean Jen M’s desire for that, because she leaves town the day I get back..

I really hope that the Nick who was in town for a few days was NOT Saadah as otherwise there will be some serious trouble for not letting me know.
