I’ve said it before, but it still applies: the more I do in a weekend, the longer it seems to last! If that’s not an argument for packing a weekend full of activity, I don’t know what is.
On the giant ferris wheel at the carnival
Last Wednesday, Jose’s brother Alex called and said he wanted to come up on Friday to go to the rodeo. Saturday was the only day he had off work, so he and his girlfriend and my mother-in-law all came to Houston for a whirlwind 24 hour visit. We went to the rodeo on Friday night and didn’t leave until midnight! We saw the end of the rodeo itself (and they had mutton bustin’ again this year — hooray!) and the beginning of the John Legend concert before heading outside for some barbeque, fried oreos, and carnival rides.

On Saturday, we got up and walked into the living room to find that Alex had already gone out and brought back Whataburger breakfast tacos. Yum! We went to the ceramics shop (for Jose’s mom, since they sell supplies she can’t get in Corpus) and Fry’s (since Alex loves Fry’s) and then had more barbeque for lunch because dinner at the rodeo wasn’t enough. After that, they got on the road back home and I couldn’t believe we STILL had a whole other day left in our weekend.
