Size of the Baby: An avocado. In other words, about 4.5 inches head to rump and 3.5 ounces. I think I’m starting to show, at least if you know me well. It’s hard to believe that there’s a baby that big inside me already yet you can barely tell from the outside. As I told Jose oh-so-eloquently, now I understand how people can have 20 pound tumors and not realize it! Apparently there’s a lot more empty space inside my body than I thought.
Weight gain/loss: About 7 pounds total. Only 1 pound since last week! Insert sigh of relief here.
Maternity clothes: Still not quite there yet, but only because I have several pairs of pants still around from a couple years ago when I was 20 pounds heavier! Jen lent me a few things, but the pants didn’t fit — not because I’m pregnant but because they were just too small.
Sleep: It’s been better!! Last night, I don’t think I even woke up to pee which is a major success. On Sunday night as we were putting clean sheets back on the bed, we flipped the mattress around on a whim and in some weird way, I think that has actually helped. I’ve felt so comfortable in bed the past couple nights. It does help that I’m still able to sleep on my stomach, which is my preferred position. I’m not looking forward to the day that stomach-sleeping becomes uncomfortable.
Movement: Nothing yet. Anxiously awaiting it, even though I know it could be several weeks still before I feel anything.
Best moment this week? This week was rough. I caught the cold that Jose had, was miserable on-and-off for several days, and a week later I’m still getting over it. I did have a fun time last Thursday though, when we went out with a group of friends went out for a yummy Thai dinner as a belated celebration of Cari’s birthday.
Food cravings: I’ve eaten a BLT from Jimmy John’s for lunch 4 times in the last 7 days. I’d like to explain this by the fact that it’s the most convenient place to stop when I’m going to and from work and the 2-week long meeting I’ve been attending, but I’m not sure that justifies 4 times in 7 days.
What I miss: Running, although I have walked 5 days in a row now, and that helps. But I feel so out of shape. Putting sheets on the bed the other night made me out of breath, and that’s just ridiculous.
What I’m looking forward to: My doctor’s appointment tomorrow! For the past couple weeks, I’ve measured my belly and it’s getting bigger, which is reassuring, but there’s nothing like hearing the heartbeat.
Milestones: Baby R can hear me now, which is totally awesome and makes singing in the car even more fun. Also, the eyes have finally migrated all the way from the side of the head to the front. Hooray for looking less like an alien!

Hahaha about JJ’s. I had cravings for Chick-fil-a everyday, and I had never, ever had it before. Chick-Fil-A Nuggest and waffle fries for lunch for 3 months… mama mia!
