Size of the Baby: Almost 3 inches long and about an ounce. This seems huge and small at the same time.
Weight gain/loss: About 3 pounds, and I still say that’s mostly holiday weight.
Maternity clothes: Nope. I don’t even really have a bump, although I can feel that things are changing. When I press on my belly, it feels more firm than it used to.
Sleep: Not sleeping well, and having lots of crazy dreams. That about sums it up.
Movement: Nope. Definitely too early for that, although when we saw the baby on the ultrasound last week, it was moving around like a total spaz. Pretty funny to watch.
Best moment this week? Telling the first people outside our families! I told Erin and Melissa at work on Thursday — I just couldn’t hold it in anymore, especially since Erin is pregnant and babies are a common topic. We told Kelly and John on Friday night when we had dinner with them. We had then planned a big announcement on Sunday when we had a bunch of people over for the Super Bowl, but things were really hectic with all the kids running around and there was never a good moment. We did manage to tell Becca, Jason and Debbie at the end of the night.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular that I can think of.
What I miss: It would have been nice to have a beer or a glass of sangria at our Super Bowl party. I know that I probably could have anyway, but I’d rather just play it safe.
What I’m looking forward to: Starting to look visibly pregnant so that I can quit worrying. Now that we’ve started telling people, I am irrationally paranoid that something might go wrong.
Milestones: Baby now has fingerprints and vocal cords. Fascinating.
