Boo: There are several women on my floor who really love air freshener in the bathroom, I guess, because there are at least a dozen different cans of it sitting around. Some are on a counter near the sinks, and some are in the stalls. Last week I suddenly noticed a particularly strong odor — there is a raspberry air freshener now sitting in one of the stalls. It’s crazy strong, and fills the entire bathroom. I love raspberry, but it’s completely overpowering. Ick.
Fun with holiday headgear at Joann
Yay: I’ve been having fun with the Instagram app lately, as you’ve probably noticed from some of the photos on this blog. But even more fun is Diptic, which I discovered over Thanksgiving. It makes it super easy to turn my iPhone photos into neat little collages!
Boo: I usually shut my computer down every evening before I leave work, but one day last week I had several documents open and I just didn’t feel like shutting everything down. I locked the computer and went on my way, only to be met the next morning with a lovely blue screen of death. So much for not shutting down. On top of that, my wifi card has been malfunctioning for months. It’s a physical problem, because I can press on a certain part of the laptop keyboard and watch the wifi light turn on and off. I’ve put up with it basically because I don’t want to call tech support, because calling them means I’ll likely end up without a computer for the day — and there’s never really a good day to be without a computer at work! I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be able to put it off. My laptop is such a piece of crap. Your tax dollars at work!
Yay: HEB sells soup kits, and Jose is kind of obsessed with them. They’re in the meat department, and come packaged with everything you need — already sliced and diced and ready to go. From what I can tell, they put the kits together in the store, so it’s all very fresh too. We tried a beef stew kit first and it was tasty, but then he bought the calabacita (pork and squash) kit and YUM! Pork isn’t one of my favorite meats so I don’t each much of it, but this soup is awesome.
Boo: A while ago, I bought a Tivo because I was sick and tired of dealing with the poor performance of the Comcast-provided box. But the Tivo has its own set of issues! It likes to randomly lose signal, or just go blank. Every time, it requires a reboot, and it takes the box a good 10-15 minutes to boot up and get running again. Technology just isn’t on my side these days.
Yay: Dreaming up wants for a Christmas list. ‘Nuff said.
