Somehow this week totally got away from me. All of a sudden, my weekend is half over and I don’t know what I’ve done with my time! Still, here are some annoying and awesome things that happened this week:
Boo: I go to Starbucks several times per month, and often several times per WEEK. So how is it that none of their employees, who recognize me and know my drink, ever told me that I should get a Starbucks gold card? It gives you a free drink every so often, and coupons on your birthday, and all kinds of stuff — and all you have to do is register a card. I’m a bit irked that I finally heard about this from a friend instead of from the people who make my drink on a regular basis.
Yay: I had moves of 111 and 117 points on Words with Friends. Those might be my highest of all time. It’s just too bad they were in games against random opponents, so I didn’t win any bragging rights among my wordy friends.
Boo: Jose got some new body wash and I can still smell it in the shower hours after he’s done. I hope I don’t start smelling like boy.
Yay: I made a pumpkin roll for book club that turned out quite tasty. I was worried the cake would crack as I rolled it, but it didn’t! Amazing!
Boo: I made pumpkin tiramisu for recipe club that was kind of a bust — I looked around the table only to see that almost everyone had left their serving mostly untouched. I personally thought it was ok, but not great. The espresso and rum were both pretty strong. I wouldn’t make this one again, which is a bummer because it sounded like a winner.
Boo: On Wednesday, the electronic sign at the main JSC gate read 88 degrees. 88 degrees outside. On November 16. Oh, Houston.
Yay: Thursday was a lovely, sunny, cool day — the perfect fall weather. (Merely one day after the record high, I might add.)

Dad should have told you about the Gold Card — he gets free drinks all the time and often gives them to me b/c I get the expensive drinks and he just gets regular coffee.

While most Starbucks aren’t really your friendly coffeeshop type place, Lucy manages the one inside the Randalls at Clear Lake and Space Center and she sure as heck recognizes most of the regulars and knows a lot of the drinks. She is probably the only reason I stop there when I do want Starbucks instead of elsewhere.
