Highlights of my weekend in photos:
My iPhone apparently had issues focusing here, but I made an easy recipe for shrimp and sausage paella on Saturday night that turned out quite tasty. The recipe is from Martha Stewart, although I actually spotted it in a Runner’s World email, of all places. The sausage was a little spicy, which worked well. Without the spicy sausage, I think it would have turned out a bit bland.
I dragged myself out of bed for about 20 minutes Sunday morning to watch the Progress launch on NASA TV. This was the first launch using the Soyuz rocket since the previous Progress mission failed at the end of August. This one was all nominal, which is a big step forward for the Russians and for the ISS. I’m glad it all went well!
Yesterday Jose and I joined Jason, Debbie, Becca and Byron to take advantage of a groupon we bought a while ago for Track 21, a laser tag and go-kart place wayyyyy the heck on the other side of Houston. It was a long drive, but we had a lot of fun. Turns out that within our little group of six, I am average at driving go-karts, and average at playing laser tag. We stopped for yummy Ethiopian food on the way home.
