To be clear, by posting this I do not mean to imply that soldiers in the desert don't deserve A/C. But holy CRAP this is a great example of where NASA's budget falls in the grand scheme of federal spending.

my favorite nasa factoid in the late 90’s was the fact that Americans spend more money on movie theatre popcorn than is spent on the space program (i.e. nasa budget).
was never sure if that was a slam against the high prices of movie theatres… but i wonder if it still holds true.
