What social gathering rocked your socks off in 2010? Describe the people, music, food, drink, clothes, shenanigans.
I went to my fair share of shindigs in college, while co-oping, and in the first few years after I moved to Houston…but in recent years, “party” pretty much means a small gathering of friends for dinner or games or a movie or something. Shenanigans? Come on, we’re all responsible adults here, we rarely get into many shenanigans anymore. That sounds totally boring, but I don’t really care. I’ve never really been a stereotypical party person anyway!
…although Jason DID carve a pumpkin for his head. That probably counts as a shenanigan…
I decided it would be fun to search my blog for the word “party” in the last year and here’s what came up:
- The Halloween party we had at our house, which was very fun.
- The recap of our trip to Miami for my brother’s wedding, which contained the word “party” only because it’s from the Will Smith song about Miami.
- A recap of our trip to Rome, where the word “party” was used to make fun of myself since the first thing we did upon arriving in Rome was go to our hotel and take a nap.
- A mention of how I’m late to the “Skype party” when I used that app for the first time to talk to Jose, who was in Canada for a conference.
- A recap of the Rockets Run 5K in which I referenced the post-race party.
Five references to parties, only one of which was ACTUALLY a party.
Yep, that sounds about right!
