Yes, I skipped yesterday’s prompt. I didn’t really like it. Onward…
What (or whom) did you let go of this year? Why?
Last year on December 5, I weighed 193.0 pounds. This morning I weighed 176.2 pounds. This year, I let go of 16.8 pounds. This year, I’m more comfortable in my own skin — both mentally and physically. I can run faster. I look better. I FEEL better.
Of course “letting go” implies that weight is something I can simply drop like a sack of potatoes, and anyone who has struggled with their weight knows that isn’t true. It took hard work and a LOT of self-discipline. I’ve written about my thoughts on my weight loss a couple times already this year, most recently in October, and you can re-read that entry if you want to know how I did it. (Hint: eat less.)
My goal weight for now is 165. I can’t remember the last time I weighed that. I guess high school? Let’s see if I can get there again.

This month, I’m participating in Reverb10, which charges you to “reflect on your year and manifest what’s next.” There’s a different prompt every day.
