Some days are better than others. Today is not so good. Things that are bothering me:
- I’m tired.
- Endless teleconferences.
- Trying to balance work commitments with my commitment to my Vomit Comet team. They arrive tomorrow for their 1.5 weeks in Houston.
- Atlantis has been delayed from its rollout to the launch pad in Florida. So the STS-132 launch countdown test got moved to Saturday morning. But I’m supposed to be doing a triathlon on Saturday morning. (I don’t know how this is going to work out yet.)
- I ate too much fried rice at lunch and my stomach feels icky.
- I am tired of working in a construction zone. There’s noise outside as they pressure wash the building and do other assorted maintenance, and there’s noise in the hallway as they pull another healthy dose of asbestos out of the ceiling.
- I tried to get some water, but my water bottle has mold in the bottom from the tiny bit of Gatorade that has been sitting in there for the last few days.
So here are some happier things, to balance it out:
- Jose and I put together the rest of our bookshelves for the bonus room last night. Tonight we’re going to paint some more. Progress!
- There are funny-looking caterpillars all over the sidewalks outside.
- I wore a skirt to work this week that was too small for me six months ago.
- We have fun ideas of things to do this weekend while Jose’s family is visiting.
- Our grass and trees are really greening up and our yard is starting to look really good again.
And finally, this, which really did put a smile on my face today:
