Last night we got to meet one of the two new babies! Eleanor was extremely tiny, extremely soft, and extremely adorable. Drake had to go into the NICU because he was working too hard to breathe, but I’m sure he will be out soon. And Jen looked pretty dang awesome for just having had major surgery.
Before all the baby excitement, Jose and I had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday down in Corpus Christi. We drove down on Thursday morning and surprised everyone — they had been warned that we might not be able to come due to the shuttle mission, so they were happy to see us. All the food was delicious and we had fun eating, playing poker, play air hockey and pool, and hanging out.
On Friday morning we got up at 4 a.m. to go Black Friday shopping. We got a few things — mainly stuff for us though, not for other people! Jose got a cast iron frying pan that he is very excited about. I got some Christmas decorations, because I am super excited about having a house to decorate. I can’t help it!
We had lunch on Saturday at a delicious restaurant in downtown Corpus Christi. I had pepper tuna bruschetta, which I mention because I had never had something like it before, and because it was super, super tasty. After that we walked across the street to the Corpus Christi Arts Center and checked out their exhibits by local artists. It was a neat little place that also offers classes and events, and made us inspired to want to create our own art at home!
