Jose picked a new recipe out of the cookbook we have been using a lot lately and together we made “Easy Seafood Risotto” last night. I chopped everything up and he cooked. We used fresh veggies, rice, and imitation crab meat and it was DELICIOUS.
Inspired by something he read in the Alton Brown book he got a few weeks ago, he made a copy of the recipe and wrote notes on it about a few slight changes we made to the recipe. We discovered that the top part of our microwave is magnetic, which is quite convenient since you can just stick the recipe up there and have it right in front of your face.
Yet another thing we are loving about our new house and new kitchen.
In other news, I was greated by this beautiful stack of Dell boxes when I walked into my office this morning. After months — years, even — of good-natured complaining, I finally got “upgraded” to a laptop at work. I am seriously the last one in my group, and maybe in my division, to get a laptop. But not anymore! I have joined the cool kids!

I have that cookbook! I haven’t used it much, though. I got it about 10 years ago before I had a house, and I never really dug it back out. My favorite cookbook:
