This happened right after the marathon. I lost all motivation for working out.
Same thing is happening now. I ran twice last week, one workout and one race. Didn’t bike, didn’t swim.
Don’t really know what my next goal is. Half marathon in Charlotte on Saturday, though the plan to run with my sister and brother and brother-in-law is probably out the window since it turns out that even in their first distance event, they’re still all faster than me.
Think I’m gonna hit the pool tonight.
I’m tired.
The Yuri’s Night race is on the verge of having to be cancelled for lack of runners. D-Day is Thursday, so if you were planning on signing up, please do so before then. We’re about halfway to our minimum. I just do a worse and worse job of handling this race every year. I don’t get the word out, I don’t have any help, and I just have too many balls in the air.
Sigh.

I love that your “unmotivated” exercise week includes two workouts and a race. My “motivated” week includes one workout and parking far away so I walk farther.

I’ve been there too. The way I see it is that if everybody gets to rest at times, then I can rest too.
For me, I trust that before too long, something will capture my interest and I’ll be back in the swing, looking for training plans.

Sarah, BARC would be a good resource to support you with this run in the future. Too late this year, but let’s discuss when we get a chance. I sent you an e-mail about it several days ago but it must have not reached you.

You should take a break – there’s nothing wrong with taking a week or two off exercising. You deserve it.
As for the race – my Dad used to run a race back home. After a while he got tired of it – too busy. It’s time for someone else to take over for a few year, perhaps, or else let it rest for a year or two.

Joe — I did get your email, I just didn’t realize that I’d never responded. I’ll do that now.

Apologies for not registering before now. I ran Yuri’s 2 years ago and enjoyed it. I’m in.
