Today I’ve got a brand new pattern just in time for the holidays! The Spinning Star Tree Skirt pattern is now available in my Etsy shop or at Quilt Pattern Mart!

I’ve been wanting to make another barn quilt-inspired tree skirt pattern for a couple years and am excited to have finally made it happen amidst the general craziness of 2020. I hope it will help you add a little fun to your holiday home!

Spinning Star is 54″ in diameter and is easily constructed from large triangles. There are very few seams to match, which means it comes together quickly and accurately. The pattern includes full instructions on how to piece the top, as well as guidance on how to quilt something that will have an opening up one side! I even included instructions for making the fabric ties you see in the photo above — or ribbon would be a great option too.
Small Size Bonus!
After wrapping up the pattern, I got a question about whether there was a small size option. So I whipped up a complimentary add-on with materials and cutting instructions to make a small 21″ tree skirt — perfect for a tabletop tree. (Note that you must purchase the full pattern to have the rest of the instructions.)

The “hardest” thing about this pattern is the binding — and I solemnly swear it really isn’t hard at all. You can bind these 120-degree corners the same way you bind a right angle, and if you need more guidance, I made this short video tutorial to walk you through the process. You can definitely do it!

Find the Spinning Star Tree Skirt pattern in my Etsy shop or at Quilt Pattern Mart. I can’t wait to see what your version looks like!
