Wearing // This maxi skirt that I got at Target earlier this week. (Mine is black and gray as seen above, which they don’t appear to have online). I tried on several things in hopes of getting some short-term casual clothes for the fall since my body shape is all weird right now, and this skirt is the only one that fit. I know I’m only 5 weeks postpartum but it was still kinda depressing. I need to find some cheap comfy t-shirts that aren’t too form-fitting.
Needing // A couple good sports bras. (Ugh, so many needs in the clothing department right now.) I’ve been getting by with several old Champion compression bras for several years now and they are pretty much worn out. In preparation for getting back to running in the near future, I want to replace them. Suggestions anyone? I’m a B/C cup and like a lot of support. I’m willing to spend a decent amount too as long as they are really worth it.
Listening // To the Matrimoney podcast. It’s about marriage and money (hence the name) and I’m really enjoying its friendly, casual vibe. Also? They no-kidding talk about money with actual numbers. So many people talk about their finances but never give any numbers, which is totally understandable but also makes it hard to really, truly relate. Kelsey and Chris talk really frankly about their salaries, their expenses, their budget, etc and I find it really interesting.
Looking // Forward to a fun 3-day weekend thanks to Monday’s federal holiday. We’ve got plans to hit up a local pumpkin patch and hopefully head downtown to the Bayou City Art Festival for a few hours as well. These will be our first true outings with the whole family so wish us luck! There are just so many fun things in Houston in October…
Mailing // Charlotte’s birth announcements! I designed them and will post them here, but not until they’ve arrived in mailboxes since I’d rather not spoil the surprise for family and friends. They turned out pretty well although they are a slightly odd size — instead of 5×7, they are something like 4.5 x 7.5. Oh well.
Sleeping // In ever-so-slightly longer stints. We got the go-ahead at Charlotte’s one-month checkup last week to let her sleep at night instead of waking her up every 3-4 hours to eat. Hooray! For the last week, she’s been giving us one ~5 hour stretch starting at 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. After that it’s a toss up whether she’ll give us another 4+ hour stretch. She usually doesn’t, but I’m optimistic that as the days continue to pass, she’ll give us another decent sleep period too.
By the time I went back to work three years ago, Emma was getting a bottle at ~10:00 at night and then sleeping until 7:00. I haven’t started working to get Charlotte on a schedule yet, but ideally she’ll be doing something similar by Thanksgiving. (I go back to work on November 30.) Fingers crossed!
Baking // Pumpkin Chocolate Icebox Pie. I made this for recipe club last week and it was pretty darn tasty. (Also, “bake” is a relative term because even though it’s a pie and a dessert, this didn’t actually involve any baking.)
Eating // Cranberry feta edamame salad, which I’ve posted about before. Still so easy. Still so good.

I buy the CHampion ones off Amazon. They work very well for me except when I’m nursing. Then, I usually wear two. I do replace them regularly though since they get stretched out.

Aww, thanks for listening! On sports bras: I am loving my Lululemon sports bra. They are in the $50 – 70+ range but I’m finding them to be very good quality and I like the selection of patterns. It’s fun to have a pretty looking sports bra.
and, Charlotte is so adorable!! I don’t know how my Cedric is already so big because I feel like he was that tiny yesterday.
