My Once Upon a Time sampler is officially finished! Yaaaaay!
If you want to get technical, I finished it on January 2 instead of in 2014. Nonetheless, I’m really proud of myself for keeping up with this project over the course of the year and being able to add it to my “finished” list instead of the UFO pile. When I started, I didn’t really have a plan for what I’d do with it at the end, but I’ve decided to hang it in Emma’s room. (Not really a surprise there, right?)
I’m not a super fast stitcher. While I never timed myself, I estimate that each block took somewhere between 8-10 hours to complete. (The December block in particular took me longer than I expected.) Given that, I found this sampler to be very well-sized for me. Doing one block at month was easily achievable, but still meaty enough to feel significant.
As I was taking these photos I did notice one thing:
I forgot to fill in that crown on the right with magenta! Oops! That was a quick enough fix though, and after cleaning and ironing (which I’ll do this week) this baby will be ready for a frame!
p.s. The pattern is from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery.

I do like the effect of the parchment colored fabric…

Hi
I’d love to do this sampler for our children’s library, but the link to the pattern you have posted just takes me to a “no more yeast infection” ad. Can you help?

Yikes! It looks like they aren’t using that site anymore, but they are definitely still around and selling this pattern. I updated the link — it’s https://www.thefrostedpumpkinstitchery.com/.

Thanks. I’ve checked them out – what gorgeous patterns! Now I want to do the classic stories too and Let’s go on an adventure! The patterns don’t seem to be available on the site but I’ve emailed them.
Thanks for your help.

Oh really? I can see “add to cart” buttons on each item’s page. Maybe try a different browser or device! (And yes, I’ve been thinking of doing another one too. They are so lovely!)
