I have only 3 goals this month for multiple reasons. First, goal #1 is aggressive. Second, work has been chock full of activity, making evening downtime more needed than ever (i.e. I want to have a few lazy evenings without worrying about goals not getting done). And third, we have some weekend plans (birthday parties and such) that will keep me occupied already.
Finish 4 quilts. Yes, FOUR — because they are all intended as gifts to be given in September. I have no idea whether I can actually pull this off, and I know there’s a chance some of the gifts will just have to be late, but I’m going to do my best anyway.
At the moment, I’ve pieced the top and backing for #1, have cut all the fabric and started piecing for #2, and have cut half of the fabric for #3. I haven’t started #4 at all. There’s a long way to go, but that’s a good start!
Side note: Elizabeth Hartman’s Pointy Quilt pattern is now available. If you liked the one I made as a tester, you can now get the pattern for yourself!
Tweak my blog design. I’ve been talking about re-doing my blog design for years, but instead I just move from template to template. Still, there are a few smaller, less intimidating tweaks I’ve been meaning to make and I’d like to get those done this month.
Run 3 times per week. (Caveat: I planned this goal in mind before I realized my dental work would result in a no-running-for-two-weeks order. So it’ll have to be modified to walking 3x/week for the first half of the month.)
I still don’t really have a specific running goal to work towards like I did with Couch to 5K. The obvious answer might be to run a 10K without walking but I haven’t found a good 10K to use as a goal race. There is one in Kemah in September, but it includes 4 trips across the Kemah bridge — not ideal — and September is probably too early anyway. I need to find one in late October or early November…
