For the first time in many many months, I don’t have anything related to my master’s project as a goal this month. Wow! Hard to believe it’s done, but I’m happy that it is!
Continue Couch to 5K training. I just finished week 1 of 8 and it went swimmingly. The workouts for now are nothing more than what I’ve done over the past 18 months — run/walk in short increments — but we’ll see how I hold up when the running periods get longer.
Comment on blogs more often. I read a lot of blogs but very rarely comment on them. I’m not really sure why — I guess it’s partly because I don’t want to come off as a random internet stranger, and partly because I’m just lazy. But I LOVE getting comments here, from anyone and everyone, and I’m sure other bloggers do too. So this month I resolve to leave more comments, and let people know that I enjoy what they write!
Make a star block for the ISS/Karen Nyberg-inspired quilt block challenge. This was announced six months ago, but the deadline isn’t until August 1. I’ll make one in June and then have plenty of time to send it in. Now — what kind of star block to make??
Create a pattern. I have relied heavily on patterns from others for a lot of the things I’ve made since I started sewing three years ago, but I’d like to try my hand at creating my own original pattern! I actually have a quilt pattern in work already (based on the image above that I pinned two years ago and keep thinking about) but I’d also like to try creating a simple cross stitch pattern.
Drink less Starbucks. I’ve gotten into the habit of stopping at Starbucks almost every single morning. It’s bad for my wallet, it sucks up an additional 15 minutes of my morning with its perennially long drive-thru line, and — even though I order “skinny” drinks — it’s not particularly great for my health. I’m not going to stop drinking my morning coffee, but I do want to start bringing it from home more often.
Let’s do it, June!

While i LOVE LOVE LOVE Sbux I refuse to pay the prices. I have the app and $ loaded on my phone, but I would say if I had to average out how often I go it’d be once a week, but I go weeks without going there too. Most often I go after Saturday long run for an iced Venti. I averaged out my Kcups when I buy at Costco and I can make an iced Venti at home for right about 50cents compared to $5

Yeah, we have a Keurig I use on the weekends for my a.m. coffee and in the evenings for decaf or tea, so it’s totally not a big deal to make myself a thermos in the morning — I just have to change my habits.
I also bought some iced coffee K-cups and made one yesterday — not bad!

In the spirit of leaving comments . . . I would really like to create a knitting pattern. However, in my one attempt, I found it requires A LOT more concentration and undivided time – like an hour minimum, preferably two – than just actually doing crafts. I really need a “room of my own.”

Yes, I think they take a lot more time than I probably realize! The quilt pattern I have in work has already taken me more than an hour and it’s only halfway done.

Haven’t been to SB in a LONG time because of the calories in what I like!!
