Emma, this morning, taking her Cat in the Hat watching very seriously
Time // 9:27 a.m.
Place // At work. Things are super slow this week since the local schools are on spring break, a lot of people are out of the office, and most meetings are cancelled. On Monday I had high hopes of using this week to work through several tasks I’ve been putting off…but while some of it has gotten done, I have to admit I’ve been kind of a slacker.
Eating // Nothing, and I am trying my best to avoid the siren call of the chocolate-covered raisins next to Melissa’s desk.
Drinking // My morning coffee, which today is a skinny caramel macchiato.
Watching // I’m still catching up on shows that piled up on the DVR while I was watching non-stop Olympics in February. I’m almost caught up on Walking Dead and Under the Gun (a Project Runway spinoff), and we’ve kept up so far with the new seasons of Survivor and Amazing Race.
Reading // I’m actually reading two books at the moment, which is pretty unusual for me since I don’t like to multitask with books. The first is The End of Night by Paul Bogard for book club. It was my selection and is really interesting so far. The second is Maxed Out: American Moms on the Brink by Katrina Alcorn, another in a string of mom-work-life-balance books I’ve read. It is alternating between making me nod vigorously in agreement and making me roll my eyes really hard…so basically just like every other book I have read in this category.
Wanting // To bug out of here early and enjoy the lovely weather. It’s been clear, cool, sunny and generally beautiful outside for the last several days.
Thinking // About heading downtown to Discovery Green sometime this weekend to check out Architects of Air, which looks really cool. I think Emma, Jose and I would all get a kick out of it.
Creating // In the past two weeks I’ve finished up three sewing/stitching projects — the Carolina embroidery, a quilt, and a craft carrying case (the latter two will be blogged soon) — so I’m in between projects at the moment. Work on my Once Upon a Time sampler is ongoing, but I haven’t figured out what my next sewing project will be.
Hoping // For continued nice, sunny weather this weekend! The forecast is calling for scattered showers, but maybe it will be wrong?
Needing // To wrap up this entry and get something productive done after my slacker tendencies thus far this week.
Anticipating // Superflex Friday tomorrow! I’m going to spend it sewing, working in the yard, and getting my nails done. (Yard first, then nails!)
