I only have four goals this month, which is a shorter list than in the past. But given the priority I’m putting on my Master’s Project these days, scaling back seems appropriate.
Continue work on my Master’s Project. I need to finish 15 posters in all, and I’ve done 7, so I’m almost halfway. Hooray! But the whole set needs to be done by mid-April which gives me 2.5 months to finish 8. In other words, I need to churn out close to one poster per week from now on — and to do that, I’m going to have to set aside more time than I have been. Until now, I’ve been working every Monday and Wednesday evening, and a few hours each superflex Friday. For the next couple months, I’m going to have to add work sessions on other weeknights and/or during Emma’s weekend naptimes.
No phone in the car. I’m not 100% perfect, but in general I am good about not texting or messing with my phone while driving. But I have a bad tendency of picking it up whenever I’m stopped at a light for more than about 30 seconds. This is ridiculous, there’s absolutely no reason I need to do it, and it’s becoming a habit that I intend to break right now.
TBD home improvement project. I’m having trouble deciding what to tackle at the moment, so I’m not going to pick the exact project. However, it will likely be something from the following list, to be decided when the mood strikes on a weekend: one of the things I didn’t finish in January, replace the ceiling light in the bonus room, hang art in the hall, replacing the lampshades in our bedroom, or making some art for over the bed.
Practice free motion quilting. This one’s just for fun, since I don’t actually have any imminent plans for free motion sewing. But I know it’s a technique that does take some practice, and knowing my perfectionist tendencies, I want to start playing around with it to see what happens.
[…] March goals coming next week. In the meantime, here’s how I did in February… […]
