December goals coming on Thursday. Until then, here’s how I did with my November goals.
Continue work on my Master’s project. I finished two (here’s one of them) and the third is about half done. So overall not too bad. My original plan had been to make 10-12, but my professor said I might need to do as many as 20. His number is based solely on an estimate of time per piece, and I personally think it’s ridiculous to judge the scope of a master’s project solely on the number of hours it takes. (This is partly because I have seen some of the projects done by others, and I guarantee you they did not take the amount of time he’s telling me I need to spend.) Anyway. We’ll see. I think 12-15 will be sufficient, so we’ll call my project somewhere between 20-25% complete.
Make this month’s Lucky Stars Block of the Month. Done! Plus more! I did the November block (which you can see in this progress post), and played more catch up by doing the February and March blocks. I also sewed a tote bag. It was a good month for sewing!
Create a draft strategy document for a work project. I made good progress on this with help from a few coworkers. I’m feeling somewhat more confident that I can do what they need me to do.
Read 1 book. Done! I read this month’s book club selection:
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I just finished this book and to be honest, I’m still not sure I really “get” everything in it. But it gets 4 stars just for the way it made me feel. I loved the atmosphere and ambiance of the circus and the characters so much that I had trouble putting it down.

Workworkwork on Emma’s Christmas stocking. I finished the cross-stitching and have moved on to backstitching all the outlines! After some work over the holiday weekend, I’m ~30% done with that. Then I just have to turn it into a stocking, which will be the easiest part of the whole thing. I think I can finish — I really do!
Make and order Christmas cards. I took advantage of a Minted sale a few weeks ago and preordered cards with the option to upload our photo later. I planned to get a family photo on Thanksgiving when we were somewhat dressed up, but Emma wasn’t very cooperative and she is either squirming or blurry in every. single. picture. So now we have to retake a family photo. Guess what’s on my to-do list for this weekend…
