Time // 12:05 pm
Place // At work.
Eating // The lunch I brought. It’s leftover taco meat and black beans. Not the most nicely put-together lunch, but it’s tasty enough.
Drinking // Water.
Watching // We rented The Hobbit on Saturday night since we missed it in the theater. For some reason, I just wasn’t as excited about it as I was for the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but it was pretty good! It’s been over a decade since I read the book, and Jose said they’ve made quite a few changes/additions — but I guess since they’re stretching it to 2 (or 3?) movies, they had to add content from other Tolkien stuff.
Reading // I’ve been on a magazine kick lately. I cancelled several subscriptions a while back so the only one I still get is Real Simple, but in the last few weeks I’ve worked my way through several months of backlog that had piled up on my bedside table.
Wanting // A nap. Because hey, I always want a nap these days.
Thinking // About what needs to get done this week, both at work and at home. I’m doing two very different jobs at work these days, and it’s left me feeling completely scatterbrained. I wasn’t expecting this, and I can’t say I’ve been handling it particularly well. I just got an email from someone asking me if I have the information I promised them — and I don’t even remember promising them info in the first place.
Creating // Emma’s triangle quilt! It’s going well. Over the weekend I made about 14 feet of bias binding, basted the quilt sandwich together, and started quilting…and then I ran out of thread! I switched to a different brand of thread for this quilt and while I like the thread a lot, it comes on spools that are half the size of the ones I used before. I didn’t realize that, and didn’t buy enough. Hopefully I’ll be able to run by Joann’s on my way home today to get one more spool.
Hoping // For a fun little party for Emma’s birthday this weekend. She’s been slightly fussier than usual lately and I’m not sure why — growth spurt? More teething? The beginnings of separation anxiety? Hopefully she’ll be in a good mood on Saturday!
Needing // To weed our flowerbed. I know, random, but every time I walk in or out of our house, I see a small field of weeds growing up through the dirt. I’ve been pulling them out one-by-one but they multiply! Time to break out the weed killer.
Anticipating // The arrival of my mom and brother tomorrow! And the reason for their visit — Emma’s 1st birthday!
