First I ran or walked a mile each day for 5 weeks. Now the goal is to do that or something comparable each day through Mother’s Day. (But I’m still calling it mile-a-day.) Here’s how I’m doing:
Apr 22 – 1.4 mile treadmill walk
Apr 23 – 1.3 mile treadmill walk
Apr 24 – 1.6 mile treadmill walk
Apr 25 –
Apr 26 –
Apr 27 –
Apr 28 – 4 mile run/walk outside
So apparently my mile-a-day motivation died at around the 6 week mark because this is now 3 weeks in a row that I’ve missed a few days. I don’t even have the excuses of being sick or being out of town this time around. I was just busy at work, and that makes me lazy in the evenings. Committing to do something every single day is definitely a challenge! It makes me even more impressed with myself that I managed it for 6 weeks…
On Sunday I went for a nice run outside. I took Emma in the stroller and I think she enjoyed it — she was awake for the first half, and fell fast asleep for the rest. I ran most of the first 2 miles, and then walked most of the other 2 miles. It was really nice and a fun way for me to accomplish something I want but still involve Emma and get her some fresh air. I may try to make a weekend run with her a regular habit. Jose and I split the weekend mornings — he gets to sleep in one morning and I get to sleep in the other. On my morning to get up early with Emma, going for a run would be a good activity for both of us!
