First I ran or walked a mile each day for 5 weeks. Now the goal is to do that or something comparable each day through Mother’s Day. (But I’m still calling it mile-a-day.) Here’s how I’m doing:
Apr 7 – 1.9 mile treadmill walk
Apr 8 –
Apr 9 – 2.2 mile treadmill walk/run
Apr 10 – 30 Day Shred Level 1
Apr 11 – 1 mile treadmill walk
Apr 12 –
Apr 13 – 1 mile treadmill walk
Well, after 6+ weeks, I finally missed a day. I caught Emma’s cold and slowly deteriorated over the day on Monday. By the time Emma went to bed and I ate dinner, I didn’t even have the energy to walk a mile. I thought about it…and consciously decided to just go to bed instead. It was bound to happen, so I’m not beating myself up about it. I did 2+ miles on Tuesday to make up for it and got back on the horse.
And THEN I missed another day! And I don’t even have the excuse of being sick! Last night, I just totally and completely forgot. It did not even occur to me that I hadn’t done my workout until I woke up this morning.
Boooooooo.
In happier news, I did work a session of 30 Day Shred back into the mix — but oh my goodness, it almost killed me. I was sore on Thursday but it didn’t really hit until Friday. Every time I got up from my desk, I had to hobble several steps before regaining a normal stride. Still, it felt good, and I plan to try to keep it on the schedule.
