So I know I’m a broken record these days, but seriously y’all, I mean for real, I really do have the cutest kid.
This morning I randomly decided to look in Emma’s mouth. I don’t know what gave me the thought, but I wanted to check her gums and see if there were any early signs of teething. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that one of her lower front teeth is completely through the gum already — though still a ways from being fully “in” — and the second one is visible just below the surface! So I guess teething is another possible culprit for her fussiness and resistance to naps over New Years? Whatever the cause, she doesn’t seem too bothered by the second one that’s yet to break through the gum.
Friday morning before work/daycare
On top of that, last night we decided to go cold turkey on her 11:30 bottle and see what happened. She slept straight from 8:30 last night to 7:00 this morning without making a peep! Jose and I were both stunned — and elated. Hopefully she’ll give us a repeat performance tonight.

We’re still playing around with solid food. She doesn’t seem super receptive to it yet, so we just do a little bit here and a little there, never more than once a day. As you can see in this video, bananas are HILARIOUS — or maybe Jose and I are the hilarious ones. Either way, I could listen to that giggle all day long.
Hanging out on the couch (can’t do this unsupervised anymore!)
On the negative side, I think she’s getting sick — AGAIN. And just as her cough had finally start to go away too. SIGH. Her nose started running like crazy today and she coughed/spit up a not-insignificant portion of her final bottle. Nevertheless, she remains in good spirits!
At Thai Cottage this afternoon
Still — cutest baby ever, as far as I’m concerned. If I hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t believe Jose and I could have possibly made such an adorable little girl.
