On some weekends, I spend most of my time lazing around on the couch. I don’t really do anything, and by Sunday night, I feel like the weekend has passed by in the blink of an eye. On other weekends, I do a lot of fun things. And those weekends always seem nice and long! I think the moral of this story is that I should not spend too much time being lazy on the couch.
Saturday was pretty much a perfect weather day down here. It was a little on the chilly side, but the sky was blue with high, wispy clouds and lots of sunshine. After two days of delays, my reduced gravity team finally got to fly on Saturday — they did one flight in the morning and another in the afternoon. I was really starting to worry that they would end up spending a week in Houston without actually getting to perform their experiment, so I was quite relieved.
Yesterday I did some baking. Jose requested banana bread and promptly stuck his nose into it for a sniff when it came out of the oven. It was pretty tasty. This was the second time I’d used this recipe and I think it’s a keeper. Plus, the recipe is by Mary Sue Milliken, who was on Top Chef Masters last season and almost won, so you know it’s quality. Anyway, we had banana bread as a late breakfast, and then last night I tried this recipe for Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies that I pinned. I brought them to work today for both my friend and coworker Erin’s birthday and Valentine’s Day. They are pretty yummy, I have to say.
I also did some sewing. I’ve been working on a quilt for a while now and yesterday I finally started attaching the binding. It is almost done! I’ll post pictures of the whole process when I’m done. This is the first quilt I’ve made and it’s definitely been a learning experience, but overall it has come together surprisingly well.
