Enjoying // Jose’s astrophography blog! It’s called Mining for Light and he has started to post some of the cool pictures he’s taken of galaxies, nebulae, and planets. Check it out and give him some love.
Thinking // About the balance between sharing my life on this blog and oversharing the life of those close to me, prompted by reading this post from Erin Loechner. I touched on this a year ago, as I pondered what I really want to write about in this space. I think carefully about what my blog says — whether literally or by implication — about my husband or my kids. I still fluctuate on that answer, but in the meantime, I do like Erin’s take.
Hearing // All about Emma’s latest field trip yesterday to the George Ranch. Emma was so excited about it that I think it affected her sleep on Wednesday night — she came out of her room at 10:45 p.m. saying she wasn’t tired!
I’m consistently amazed at the things the daycare does with a group of 25 hyped up 3- and 4-year-olds. There are usually quite a few parents that go along (Jose went this time) but it’s still an impressive undertaking.
Feeling // Really excited about the “Creativity Club” I mentioned on Wednesday — a work group that meets once a week at lunchtime. I went this week for the very first time and can’t wait to go again! There were about 8 people there who were knitting, drawing, coloring, making cards…and cross stitching (that was me). I love love LOVE the opportunity to take a mid-week mental break with like-minded coworkers.
Aching // After doing a 30 Day Shred workout session for the first time in 2+ years. Whew. Super tough. And ouch. I’m so sore.
Remembering // This week in my archives:
Three years ago…I shared a personal story about my first two pregnancies.
Four years ago…I finished my second quilt and found out Emma was a girl!
Seven years ago…construction began on our house!
Nine year ago…I did my first (and so far only) Half Ironman!
Ten years ago…I “introduced” Jose to the blog. (Spoiler alert: the relationship worked out.)
Eleven years ago…I went to Seattle for a job interview (and got to hang out with my friend Jen). I didn’t get an offer and in retrospect, that has worked out just fine.
Thirteen years ago…I won $500 in a camera phone picture contest. Ha! So random.

A creativity club? That sounds awesome! I currently use my lunches to work out but this might come in handy one day!

Yes! It’s such a good idea — I’m glad someone else thought of it because it had never occurred to me.

Hm, coloring is acceptable? Maybe I should bring my adult coloring books by… 🙂

Enjoyed this post very much. And I looked at, and commented on Jose’s blog. I just read your post about your miscarriage–I’m sorry you went through that sad time. I’m so thankful that you now have 2 darling girls to brighten your life.

Thanks — and me too!
