I enjoyed 30 Days of Creativity in June! Here’s a rundown of my activities for the last 10 days of the month (or you can go back and look at Week 1, Week 2, or Week 3):
June 22 – More work on the blanket I’ve posted about several times and as I already mentioned, it was a gift for Kelly’s baby and I didn’t actually finish it before her shower. (Insert sad mwa-mwa-mwaaaaa sound effect here.)
June 23 – I posted about this before, but I made a yummy Black Forest Trifle for Kelly’s baby shower. Cooking is creative enough, and since I had to change a few things from the original recipe, it was even more so!
June 24 – Didn’t take a photo this day, but I started making the binding for Kelly’s blanket. The blanket itself is done, but it needs binding to truly be finished!
June 25 – With my parents’ arrival only a couple days away, I was optimistic that I might finish my curtain wall for the guest room before they arrived so I pulled out my giant roll of fabric to start measuring and cutting. But of course I didn’t get it finished; in fact, I barely got it started. In the end, this is probably a good thing, since we ended up moving the bed to a different wall after they got here, and that may drive me to change which wall I put the curtains on!
June 26-30 – My creativity over the last 5 days of the month was limited to several hours spent working on the program book for the Miss Bay Area pageant. I had to squeeze the work in where I could around my parents visit (not what I had planned, but was forced to do due to extenuating circumstances beyond my control…sigh) and got it done just in time.
I feel like I fizzled out a bit over the second half of the month after a strong first half, but overall I enjoyed the challenge to do something creative — even if it was something small — every day. It’s a mindset I’d like to stay in. Even when it’s not realistic to do something every single day, it’s fun to realize that I can be creative even if I only have 10 or 15 minutes to spend on it!
